We have noted the number of objections to the above planning application and would like to address these as follows:
1. The address details indicated on the application forms are different from the existing approval purely because the Post office issued a new Post code and details specific to the church.
2. The new planning application differs from the existing approval, mainly in that the West end extension facing Tetherdown has been redesigned to retain much of the existing single storey element. There are some other changes to materials, however, It is this fact, that led the planning officer to request a new application be submitted rather than a minor amendment.
3. The internal layout has changed very little from the previously approved plans and the same accommodation is essentially provided as before. The arguments raised by objectors to the original application have been set forth and referred to again, however, these were all dealt with in the original application consultation process and we would therefore refer to our reply at that time please.
We would therefore suggest that the only real question here relates to the West end proposals.
4. The Conservation and planning officer have been involved and consulted over the changes to the West end and the design agreed in principle. In fact it should be noted that much of the existing West end built form is now proposed to be retained. This should be seen as an improvement by objectors to the current approval. The main design change being that the arched doors will be removed and windows remodelled to reflect the existing verticality of the West end main window above.
5. The existing Stained glass windows are to be retained/repaired and will be displayed internally, despite comments suggesting the contrary.
6. There have been some misleading and incorrect statements made by objectors regarding the application.
